The St. Vincent Medical Center project includes a state of the art MRI and CT Procedure Rooms and Control Rooms. This project requires an extensive remodel of existing spaces to support the new technology. St. Vincent is currently the only provider of a Quantum Magnetic Resonance Imaging unit in its region, receiving patients from all of Los Angeles County. This project requires an extensive remodel of existing spaces to support the new technology. Project Objectives:
Create the most efficient and sophisticated MRI/CT Scanner Suite utilizing the latest technology. Maintain the ability to upgrade the space as newer technology becomes available. Convey an image of professionalism which provides patients with peace of mind.
Design a space that offers a clean and unobstructed view for communication between the physicians and technicians and their patients.
Utilize new technology to reduce clutter in the procedure rooms which aids in a more efficient space and a safer working environment for both staff and patients.
Showcase the advanced technology incorporated in the design to entice visiting physicians and health care providers.
Sophistication and Comfort:
Our objective in design of this space is to provide an efficient state of the art MRI/CT Scanner Suite which utilizes today’s available technology while maintaining the ability to upgrade equipment in the future. The design subtleties of the ceiling and flooring seek to meld the ominous equipment into patterns and shapes to achieve a higher comfort level for the patient and an organized working environment for physicians and staff.
Balance functions of both the Procedure Rooms and the Control Rooms:
Continuous interaction with physicians and technicians throughout the design development phase was essential in creating a perfect functional relationship between the procedure rooms and control rooms. The design result successfully integrates Skytron OR Lighting, Gamex Laser Lighting, Medrad Injection System and RF Shielding Enclosure. These system allows the use of state of the art technology to achieve the highest quality of imaging possible.
Eliminate clutter and chaos:
Custom casework design in the procedure and control rooms brings order and sophistication to a confused conglomeration of equipment that is necessary to perform imaging procedures.
Integrate new technologies:
The multiple technologies required by this project brought a multitude of vendors into the design process. By working closely with representatives, we are able to merge technologies to create an efficient and functional system.
Create a sophisticated Procedure and Control Rooms:
The ergonomic design of these spaces is key to the success of the suite. The curved counters and wall allow for ease of use and access to upgrade the equipment. The casework wraps around the technician, encasing him in a high tech environment much like a pilot is in his plane.
